A Very Heritage Christmas Festival

Posted on: 3rd December 2021

Celebrate Christmas with a new festival from Ulster Architectural Heritage, supported by Belfast City Council. Join UAH from 3rd -17th December to celebrate A Very Heritage Christmas!

A Very Heritage Christmas will allow you to discover Christmas traditions from across the island of Ireland, and how Christmas would have been celebrated in Victorian Belfast. The events will kick off on Saturday 4th December, with a special online talk from Dr Marion McGarry on Irish Winter Customs which will take place via zoom.

We will also be doing a special family event, Christmas at the Old Museum, at the Old Museum Building, Belfast on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th December. Families can discover more about Christmases past from Mrs Claus and Santa, and children will be able to get stuck into some fun Christmas craft activities. Kids will receive a free gift, a booklet packed with fun Christmas facts, recipes and activities, as well as taking home their very own handmade Christmas card and bauble!

We will also be celebrating A Very Heritage Christmas online through our social media channels from Friday 3rd December by sharing fun facts, puzzles and recipes throughout the festival, as well as a fun heritage trail, so everyone can get involved and get into the festive spirit!

All events are FREE, however booking for events is essential. Find out more and book: www.ulsterarchitecturalheritage.org.uk/events
