Heritage Arts Challenge: Photography Workshop with Christopher Barr

Join UAH for a virtual photography workshop led by Christopher Barr, as part of our Heritage Arts Challenge series. The Heritage Arts Challenge aims to inspire people to create a work of art inspired by a historic building or place in Northern Ireland. In this session,

Christopher will be introducing the art of photography, demonstrating how to capture the perfect image. In this workshop you will explore the art of framing an image, storytelling through a photograph and understanding how to interpret historic buildings through the lens of a camera.

Christopher Barr

Christopher Barr is an Irish artist and educator based in Belfast/Dublin. His photographic work has been exhibited widely in galleries, public spaces and festivals across the globe; including at the 4th International Photography Festival where he represented Ireland. His publications include, ELLEMEN Shanghai, The Wall Street Journal, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Irish Times, The Independent, Vogue and Variety.

He has designed education and mentorship programmes, facilitated workshops, and given lectures for The National Museums, Ulster Design Festival, Culture Night, Belfast Exposed Gallery, Belfast Studio Workshops and community photography projects across Ireland. He has also undertaken a number of research projects.

Christopher teaches part time on several courses at Ulster University including Fashion & Textiles, 3D Design, Architecture, Foundation Photography and Visual Communication. He also teaches Belfast Exposed Levels 1-4, Belfast Exposed Futures Mentoring Program and Belfast Photo Workshops.

 

This workshop is virtual and will be held online via Zoom. UAH uses Zoom as its digital conferencing tool (www.zoom.us). An access code will be emailed to participants following registration.
